.
Myofascial Release:
With the concept that all body structures are surrounded by
different types of fascia and that this tissue has an ability to be
stressed and harden or be relaxed and become more fluid, the techniques
are used to promote a more fluid state for the fascia.
This technique is applied using specific pressure with no lotion
and basically stretching the skin.
.
Reiki: This energy
technique is a re-creation of an ancient Tibetan Buddhist concept of
opening and moving energy within the chakras for greater spiritual
enlightenment.
.
Reflexology:
Originally called “Zone Therapy” this technique involves segments of
the body called “reflex zones”.
Any stimulation within a zone would reflexively stimulate
everything within that zone. The
entire body is mapped out on the feet, and stimulation of each mapped
area has a reflex response on the related body part or area.
.
Sports Massage:
Pre-Sports technique is used to revitalize and stimulate muscle for
optimum agility, while post-event is used to rehabilitate and heal
sports injuries by speeding up recovery.
.
Deep Tissue:
Shorter, slower strokes reaching deeper in the layer of superficial
fascia an muscle. Stimulates
increased blood flow to a deep level, helping the healing of soft
tissue.
.
Swedish: Long
strokes increasing blood circulation and oxygen to your body. Promotes
relaxation due to the light strokes. How
and why does massage therapy work?
Massage
stimulates the millions of never endings in skin, helping to release
tension in stressed muscles and tissues, sparking positive sensations
and reactions.
These
feelings produce positive chemical signals that flow throughout the body
and mind, replacing negative stress signals.
Massage therapy mechanically reduces muscle tension, coaxing
nerves in muscles and soft tissues to relax.
This “relaxation response” triggers the release of natural
endorphins and other “feeling good” neuropeptides like serotonin,
the body’s natural painkillers, and mood elevators.
The cumulative benefits of massage therapy may even restore the
body’s natural immune system.
